But first, it’s Listener’s Choice! We’ve asked you who in our earlier editions, and now it’s time we ask where. Where do you listen to I Am Country? Let us know ⬇️

Carrie Underwood: Contestant 👉️ Judge

Nearly twenty years since auditioning, Carrie Underwood is “coming home” to American Idol, and this time not as a guest performer or vocal mentor, but something else. Replacing Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood will join Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan as a Judge for the competition.

This announcement is only a drop in the bucket of everything she has on her plate. Carrie Underwood has extended her Las Vegas residency through 2025, announced a collaboration with Papa Roach on a new version of “Leave a Light On (Talk Away the Dark)”, and lead worship for a Nashville congregation through Bethel’s “Goodness of God”

We’re looking forward to seeing Carrie Underwood back on American Idol; maybe she’ll help find the next American superstar. American Idol will host virtual auditions for Florida on August 29th.

Post Malone’s Opry Debut and F-1 Trillion

Post Malone has been quickly rising through the ranks of Country music. Collaborating with Country legends and learning from some of the best, his debut Country album “F-1 Trillion” is already a chart topper.

Just two days before his August 16th record release, Post Malone made his Grand Ole Opry debut with special guests Brad Paisley, Lainey Wilson, The War and Treaty, Vince Gill and John Michael Montgomery. Catch the full performance Opry coverage here.

Willie Nelson’s Covers EP “Last Leaf on the Tree”

That’s right, Willie Nelson is releasing his 153rd album, Last Leaf on the Tree, on November 1st. The record will include cover tracks and reinterpretations of famous songs by Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Beck, The Flaming Lips, Neil Young, Nina Simone, and more.

The album will also include tracks written by Willie Nelson himself, and his son, Micah Nelson, who is also producing the album. Talk about great family genes (and jeans).
